No bomb in threat at Grant County Airport

MOSES LAKE – A bomb threat the morning of July phoned in to Grant County International Airport resulted in no bomb, Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones reported.

However, the bomb scare caused all kinds of havoc. It led to the evacuation of the terminal and the lockdown of neighboring schools and offices. ??Airport officials received the call at about 8:45 a.m. The airport activated its emergency plan and notified the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

A cursory walk through search by deputies did not uncover any suspicious materials.

A bomb detection dog and handler from the Grand Coulee Police Department responded. No bombs or suspicious materials were found, and the lockdowns were lifted around 11:15 a.m. ??Air traffic was not interrupted, and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
