| July 24, 2013 1:36 PM

EPHRATA — The Grant County PUD has invited young artists to participate in its art contest. Children ages 12 and younger are invited to create a work of art with the theme "How my family uses electricity."

Participants must use the contest form provided by the PUD. Forms can be picked up at a PUD office, several community libraries throughout the district’s service area, or be downloaded from http://www.grantpud.org/community/education

The forms, and completed artwork, can be returned to a PUD office in Ephrata, Moses Lake, Quincy, Grand Coulee, or Royal City, the Mattawa City Hall, or brought to the PUD's booth at the Grant County Fair Aug. 13 - 17. Aug. 13 is Free Day at the fair, sponsored by Grant PUD.

Contest forms and crayons will be available at the fair booth too.

Every artist will receive a free nightlight and be entered into a drawing for a boat tour. The winning contestant and three family members will tour the Wanapum Reservoir section of the Columbia River by boat.

For more information visit www.GrantPUD.org, or call (509) 754-5035. To read more about the winner, pick up a future edition of the Columbia Basin Herald.
