| July 22, 2013 8:42 AM

EPHRATA — A Moses Lake man was killed Monday morning after his vehicle struck a horse in the road two miles west of Ephrata.

Armando N. Capetillo, 24, was driving east in a 1992 Ford Ranger pickup about 2 a.m. on state Route 28, when his vehicle struck a horse on the highway. The horse had reportedly been spooked, threw its rider and ran onto the road, according to the State Patrol.

Capetillo was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
