She was born December 2, 1927 in Starkville, Colorado the youngest of six children and was raised in Trinidad, Colo.

Shirley met the love of her life, Martin, at a dance where he told his friends "See that girl over there? I'm gonna marry her." They wed June 11, 1949 and began their nearly 44 years together. Their journey eventually brought them to Moses Lake, Washington in 1970 where she continued to live even after Martin's death in 1993.

Shirley firmly believed "there is good in every person; sometimes you just have to look deeper." She loved people and made friends easily, many for life.

In addition to being a wonderful, tireless and hardworking mother to her four children and all of Martin's basketball players, she worked as a teacher's aide and assisted Martin at Anzelini's Frame and Art Gallery until he retired in 1983. Together, they traveled twice to Europe and several times to Anchorage, Alaska to visit their son, Marty's family (once by herself).

She enjoyed her daily walks to Mass and other functions at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was a popular member of TOPS and her Red Hatters group because of her wonderful sense of humor.

Shirley was preceded in death by her three sisters, husband, Martin and son Marty. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and John Mitz, Eltopia, Washington; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Annette Anzelini, Anchorage, Alaska, Michael and Dianne Anzelini, Centralia, Washington, John and Sonja Anzelini, Moses Lake, Washington; two brothers, James and William Savage; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Her family especially thanks Fr. Dan (Our Lady of Fatima) and Assured Hospice who cared for Shirley during her last days.

Memorial donations in Shirley's name may be sent to Our Lady of Fatima's Catholic Church Building Fund 200 Dale Road, Moses Lake or to Assured Hospice, 1417 South Pioneer Way, Moses Lake.
