Bomb threat a false alarm

| July 11, 2013 9:15 AM

MOSES LAKE — Thursday morning’s bomb threat at the Grant County International Airport turned out to be a false alarm.

A bomb sniffing dog from the Grand Coulee Police Department made a search through the airport terminal about 10:45 a.m. and no bombs were found inside the building.

The terminal was evacuated about 8:45 a.m. when someone called in a bomb threat, according to the sheriff’s office. The airport terminal was evacuated and Big Bend Community College as well as nearby businesses and neighbors were put on lockdown until about 11:30 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the source of the call.

More details on the bomb scare and information on Grant County’s only bomb sniffing dog will be available in Friday’s edition of the Herald.
