Double homicide east of Othello

ADAMS COUNTY — The bodies of two Othello men were found early Wednesday morning in an orchard east of Othello, victims of an apparent homicide.

The bodies of Ruben Gonzalez-Navarrete, 29 and Juan Luis Rizzo-Torres, 39, were found early Wednesday morning near West Bench Road, Adams County Sheriff Doug Barger said. Barger said both victims appear to have died from gunshot wounds.

The Columbia Basin Investigative team is assisting the sheriff’s office in the investigation of the incident and the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab is assisting with the crime scene.

Barger said it appears the incident took place sometime between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.
