Smokiam Days celebration this weekend

SOAP LAKE — Celebrating freedom continues this weekend in Soap Lake at the annual Smokiam Days town celebration.

Festivities start Saturday at the 7 a.m. Senior Center pancake feed, and continue throughout the day with a horse shoe competition at 9:30 a.m., parade at 11 a.m., BBQ from 2 to 7 p.m., and ending with fireworks at dusk, according to the Soap Lake for Locals website. There will be craft and food vendors at East Beach Park beginning Friday and running through Sunday.

The Wanapum Native American Discovery Unit, a traveling museum will also be in East Beach Park after the parade. Local businesses have events planned for the weekend, including holiday sales, meal specials and live music performances.
