Manuel Garcia Orozco, 77, a resident of Royal City passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Royal City. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Royal City. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Michael's with Father Jesus Ramirez, celebrant. Interment will follow at Royal Memorial Gardens. Manuel was born to Eugenio and Florita Garcia on November 15, 1935 in Jalisco, Mexico. He was raised in Michoacan, Mexico where he harvested corn and raised cattle to help support his family. In 1959, he came to the U.S. as a contracted farm worker through the Bracero Program. In 1986, he became a U.S. Citizen, and he lived in Royal City for 26 years. He worked in agricultural labor until retirement. He was married to Marcelina Ortiz for 56 years and together they had 13 children. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a faithful man and an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Marcelina Garcia Ortiz, his sons; Hilario , Manuel, Arnulfo, and Ramon. His daughters; Marcelina, Eva, Maria, Remedios, Blanca, and Elena. Also surviving are his brothers; Luis, and Rogelio, his sisters; Teresa, Maria, and Carmen, his 33 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Florita Garcia, brothers; Antonio and Hilario, his sister; Delmira, and his three children; Florita, Juan Manuel and Alma Leticia.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He has left a long legacy of compassion, honesty, love and hard work.
