Clinton W. Olson
Clinton W. Olson, 88, died on Father's Day, June 16, 2013 in Moses Lake where he resided over the past 40 years. Clinton was born on November 30, 1924 in Froid, Montana to Arthur and Ann Olson, moving to Homestead, Montana in the late 20's and lived on the Olson Farm with his grandparents, aunts and uncles until about 1944.
Clinton entered the military in 1945 and was a military man for 20 years in the Army retiring as a Major and he was very proud of his service to his country. After retiring to Moses Lake, he became a gradall operator with his father working for Olson Bros. Excavation. Then Clinton started a career with the Moose Lodge in 1965 earning his Pilgrim's Degree at Mooseheart in 1995. He was also a Merry Mixer, member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and the Elks.
Clinton was preceded in death by his mother Ann, father Arthur, brother Lloyd, wife Lillian and son in law Russel.
Clinton is survived by his current wife, Julia Bland-Olson, whom he married in 2005 at age 80 and her family, son and daughter in law, Jerry and Heather Olson, Bellevue, daughter and significant other, Cynthia and Richard, Moses Lake, sister and brother in law, Linda and Mike Bloom, Mukilteo, twin grandchildren, Kira, Kody, along with Emily and Audrey, nephew and niece, Patrick (Cecilia) Durgan, Sara (Julius) Temba and their children along with an extended family.
Clinton was a very kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, but most of all a true gentleman. He never met a stranger and had an infectious smile from ear to ear. He would say, "I'm going up to the hill today." We knew he would be visiting his favorite places such as Ford, Dr. Harder's office, the Moses Lake Clinic, Franz Bread Store ad any other places he could spread his joy.
He loved his family, cherished his grandchildren, dancing with Lillian, working in his garden, watching the birds outside his home and being caregiver to Julia. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Please join us in a celebration of his life on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Moses Lake Alliance Church at 5 p.m.
