Weekly Fishin' Magician Report with Dave Graybill

The "show season" continues in our region and beyond. Makes sense to have indoor activities available for sportsmen this time of year.
I spent last weekend checking out the Washington State Sportsmen's Show in Puyallup and being a part of the Seattle Boat Show.
I will be going back for the last weekend of the Boat Show at the end of the week. The next show coming up is the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen's Show in Portland, from February 6th through the 10th.
This is monster show that I have yet to make it to, but friends tell me this is well worth the trip.
The next show in our region is the Central Washington Sportsmen's Show in Yakima. This is a really fun show, with lots for families to do. It takes place February 15th through the 17th at the Sundome.
Don't forget to get your tickets to the Wenatchee Sportsmen's Associations Game Feed and Auction coming up on February 9. This is not only famous excellent exotic food, but a terrific auction of a wide variety of items for outdoorsmen and -women.
Look for tickets at Hooked on Toys, One Shot Firearms and High Mountain Hunting.

Ice fishermen can add Roses Lake, near Manson at Lake Chelan to their list of lakes that have safe ice.
According to Anton Jones, Darrell and Dads Family Guide Service, anglers are now fishing at Roses.
This lake can be very productive for smaller, planted rainbow in the winter, with some carryovers available.
The lake is heavily planted with trout in the fall each year. There are some nice perch in Roses Lake, too, and it may take some looking to find them.
Anglers had good action at Fish Lake over the long weekend, taking some perch to over 10 inches, and lots of 11- to 12-inch trout.
Beginning later this week is the Washington State Sportsmen's Show in Puyallup.
This is the granddaddy of shows in Washington, so plan on having a full day to see everything there.
The same is true for the Seattle Boat Show that begins on January 25th and runs through February 3rd. You can see over 1,000 boats on display at Century Link Field and even more moored on the water at Lake Union.
I'll be at the Boat Show with Bob Feil Boats and Motors, so come by and see me and my new Kingfisher boat.

I got a call the other day from a friend that had heard that there had been some new triploids released into Rufus Woods Reservoir.
If that was true he was going to get up there as soon as he could.
I got a note out to Ron Oules, Reel-Lent-Less Guide Service in Brewster, asking him if he had heard anything about more triploids being caught at Rufus.
He replied that no, fishing was jus the same up there. It can be air one day and not so good the next.
He also reported that there are steelhead being caught at Bridgeport.
Nothing very hot, but anglers can expect to take two or three a day up there.
Bobbers and jigs are still doing the trick. I have found the currents very heavy below Chief Joseph and Wells on my last couple of trips up north.
I am going to spend more time back trolling for steelhead as long as these conditions persist. I am trying to slow down my presentation, so a steelhead has a chance to decide to eat my bait.
For those who are waiting for a re-opening of some of our steelhead waters here, it will probably late February before that happens.
