EASTON - Three Lady Phoenix scored in double figures to lead Columbia Basin Secondary School (CBSS) to a much-needed 53-36 road win over the Easton Jaguars Friday.

"This was an uplifting win after a 4-game losing streak," coach Clint Scriven said. "The ladies played their hearts out ... played great defense (10 turnovers) ... and pulled down 44 rebounds to maintain our lead throughout the game."

The Phoenix got out to a quick start to go up 18-10 at the end to the first quarter. CBSS led 33-12 at intermission.

The Phoenix pushed the score to 45-22 at the end of third quarter and cruised to a 17-point win.

Crystal Lloyd set the pace for CBSS with 24 points, 15 rebounds, 7 steals and 5 assists. Amber Lloyd added 12 points and 16 boards; Jayslie Balanay had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists, Amree Kimball scored 4 points, and Holli Diamond finished with 3.

The win over Easton improves the Phoenix record to 3-7 in league play, and 5-11 overall.

CBSS is back in action tonight when the team hosts league leading Moses Lake Christian Academy at 6 p.m.
