Nick Shoman, 84, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away at his winter home in Arizona on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 30 at Kayser's Chapel. Mass of Christian burial be will held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 31 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with burial following at Guarding Angels Cemetery in Moses Lake. After the graveside service, a reception will be held in the Fatima Center. Nick Shoman was born November 10, 1928 in Wilton, North Dakota to Roman and Anna Shoman. He graduated from Wilton High where he played basketball and football. On August 19, 1950, Nick married his high school sweetheart, Jeanie Brezden. While serving in the army for 2 years, they lived in many states due to his work as a carpenter. They finally ended up in Renton, Washington where they lived for 45 years, raising their 3 daughters Linda, Joann, and Denise.

Nick was a member of the Elks in Renton where he was named Elk of the year and Elk of the month many times. He was the Superintendant for Weyerhauser in the home building industry. Nick retired in 1991 and he and Jeanie became snowbirds, spending winters in their winter home in Yuma, Arizona. He loved to do woodworking crafts and was very proud of his completed projects.

Nick is survived by his wife, Jeanie of Moses Lake and Yuma; daughters Linda (William) Miles, Joann (Curtis) Welch, and Denise (Ed) Roe; grandchildren Christy Welch, Corine Cooper, Sean Roe, Brianne Miles, and Kevin Roe; and great-grandchildren Jaymee Welch, Joseph Cooper, and Gabriel Roe.
