Where do you want to dine and shop in Moses Lake?

We asked readers just that this week on the Columbia Basin Herald's Facebook page.

From the 168 comments posted since Tuesday, it is clear stores and restaurants are something our readers feel passionate about and with good reason. Infusing the local economy with retail dollars helps spur economic development, area growth and jobs and sustains our area's retail base. Besides, more stores and restaurants provide us all with more places to shop and dine.

Offering more variety to consumers benefits the community in many ways and ads to the great local businesses already in place.

Readers weighed in online by suggested the restaurants Olive Garden, Red Robin, Applebee's, Wendy's, Godfather's Pizza, Red Lobster, Jamba Juice, Chipotle, Skipper's Cove (seafood buffet), Hooters, Sonic, Fuddruckers, Jimmy John's, Little Caesar's, Old Country Buffet, Fiesta Foods, bringing back The Golden Corral and Carl's Jr.

Suggested stores include Costco, Hobby Lobby, Fred Meyer, WinCo (supermarket), JoAnn's Fabrics, Old Navy, Burlington Coat Factory, REI, Forever 21, Target, Bath & Body Works, Children's Place, more clothing options for children and men, Kohl's, ShopCo, Toys R Us combined with Babies R US, Sears, Macy's, Cost Plus World Market, Best Buy, Winn Dixie, Circuit City, Albertson's, Kmart and Famous Footwear.

A bright spot in Moses Lake's retail news is the new Ross clothing store. Ross is making great strides in remodeling the former Food Pavilion on Stratford Road. By the looks of the building's progress, we expect the store to open in the coming months.
