Rodolfo R. Salazar, Sr.

Rodolfo R. Salazar, Sr., 84, Moses Lake resident passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Assembly at Moses Lake Church. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until services start on Monday, January 21, 2013. Rodolfo was born April 19, 1928 to Alfredo and Maria Elena Salazar in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was raised and educated in Progreso, Texas. He married Hilda Barcenas in March of 1946 in Weslaco, Texas. In 1962, Rodolfo and Hilda moved to Othello, Washington. They lived in Warden, WA for about 20 years before moving to Moses Lake In 1991.

Roldolfo will be remembered for his sense of humor, his charisma and his generous heart. He dedicated his life to the love of his life, Hilda Barcenas Salazar and his 13 children. He was a father figure to many of his grandchildren. He was a hard worker who instilled strong family values in his family. Roldolfo enjoyed playing the harmonica and loved to work in his garden. He liked to spend quality time with his 2000 Lincoln, making sure it was clean. He also loved to watch old western movies. Time with family was special to him. He will be greatly missed.

Rodolfo is survived by his loving wife, Hilda; sons Raul (Santos), Ruben (Ginny), Ramiro, Rudy (Terry), Rigo, Rafael (Yoli), Rene (Shari); daughters Rosalinda (David) Cantu, Hilda and Lali Salazar; Brothers Elias and Abelino Salazar; sisters Socorro Garza, Aurora Salazar; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant children; 1 brother; 1 sister, grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 1 daughter-in-law.

We love you so much, Papa. You will be forever in our hearts. We will miss your hugs and smile. We know you are with Jesus now, because you made him your Lord and Savior.
