Student suggests Trout for Person of the Year

| January 18, 2013 5:00 AM

I am writing to suggest to you who the person of the year should be. I think it should be Mike Trout. In my opinion, I think he should be the person of the year because he has received the AL Rookie of the year. He has also received the Fielding Bible Award. He is the center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He got his inspiration from his father who was a fifth-round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins in 1983.

His batting average was .326. He had 35 home runs, 99 RBI's, 309 Hits, 53 stolen bases, and 149 runs scored. In my opinion those are phenomenal numbers. Mike Trout has become the first major league rookie ever with 30 home runs and 40 stolen bases.

These are the reasons why I think Mike Trout should be the Person of the Year.
