PUD grants rebates when purchasing appliances

| January 18, 2013 5:00 AM

EPHRATA - According to Grant County PUD, the purchasing of Energy Star certified appliances is a wise decision, and the PUD encourages such purchases with rebates.

"With years of use, energy-efficient appliances help you save hundreds of dollars on your power bills," the PUD's Chuck Allen said.

"You can also save right away with Grant PUD's appliance rebate program," he added.

Grant PUD has rebates for customers who purchase a new qualifying Energy Star clothes washer, refrigerator or freezer. Rebates of $30, $50 and $70 are available on qualifying Energy Star clothes washers based on their energy rating.

Customers who purchase Energy Star refrigerators or freezers that are at least 10 cubic feet can receive a rebate of $15.

A bonus rebate of $100 is available for customers who prove they have properly decommissioned their old 10-cubic-foot or more freezer or refrigerator. Restrictions and conditions apply to all rebates.

For information on the rebate program, visit the Energy Services section of www.gcpud.org, call the Energy Services department at (509) 766-2512 or stop by the PUD office at 312 W. Third Ave. in Moses Lake.
