Moses Lake man arrested after stabbing

MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was arrested Monday night after allegedly assaulting a female then stabbing a male at the 1000 block of West Marina Drive, according to police reports released Tuesday.

Richard B. Steele, 57, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault, according to police reports.

Moses Lake police received a call around 8:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a disturbance on West Marina Drive. Officers arrived and it was determined Steele was allegedly causing problems with area residents.

According to reports, Steele allegedly assaulted a 65-year-old female. A 26-year-old male was then allegedly stabbed by Steele with a steak knife after attempting to confront Steele. Steele was arrested outside without incident, according to police captain Dave Ruffin.

The male victim was treated at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for non-life threatening injuries to his abdomen, according to police reports. The female victim did not require treatment for her injuries.
