MOSES LAKE - A class to help people complete college student loan applications is scheduled for Big Bend Community College.

The class is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 10 in Room 1802 in the BBCC library, 7662 Chanute St. NW. Bilingual assistance is available.

The College Goal Sunday program offers students and parents instruction in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students and parents need to complete the form to receive federal financial aid.

Parents must attend if the applicant is less than 24 years old. Participants should bring their Social Security card or alien registration card and a driver's license or other identification. Students and parents need to bring information on their income.

Students can use their 2011 tax return, if they have an independent income. Students must be U.S. citizens or legal residents, although that's not required for parents.

If they choose, students and parents can fill out the form during the class. Information will be available about filing deadlines and paying for college.

Experienced financial aid administrators are going to be on site to talk about the process and the options. Undocumented students, and students not applying through the federal financial aid process, can be connected with resources to help them.
