Daniel Glen Carter

| January 16, 2013 5:00 AM

A beautiful and precious soul has left this world to be with his Lord and Savior.

Daniel Glen Carter, 20, of Ephrata, Washington, died of an accidental death on Sunday, December 30, 2012.

He was born on July 18, 1992 in Kirkland, Washington to Dan and Tani Carter.

Daniel was a passionate, deep, sincere and loving young man who touched many lives in his short time here on earth. His greatest passions were knowing God, loving people, and music. He also loved a great theological or philosophical debate.

He had a beautiful relationship with his family and was a sincere and loyal friend. Most who knew Daniel knew that music was so much a part of who Daniel was. His love of music began with piano at age six which he continued studying through age 18. At age 12 Daniel picked up a classical guitar and his life was forever changed. The beauty and artistry that would come out of the instrument were obviously of the hand of God.

His love of music combined with his many awards and accomplishments led him to pursue a career in classical guitar performance. Daniel spent an invaluable year studying with guitarist Christopher Parkening at Pepperdine University. He was currently studying with his dear friend, Dr. Paul Grove, guitar professor at Whitworth University in Spokane.

The beauty of his playing still echoes in our hearts. Daniel's love for God and others was evident in his quest for truth and through his servant's heart. He served on the worship team at his home church from seventh grade on. He also gave to the community and beyond.

One of his favorite accomplishments was a benefit concert he performed his senior year to raise funds for Clean Water in Haiti project. He also spent time serving others in Mexico, and June 2012 spent a month at an orphanage in Haiti. Daniel also passed on his love for music by teaching piano and guitar to many in the community throughout his high school years.

Daniel is home. Jesus Christ, being fully God and fully man, came to earth, was born, lived, and was crucified for the sin of all of mankind, and is seated at God's right hand as part of the triune God. Because, and only because Daniel believed this biblical truth, he is now living eternally in Heaven where God our loving heavenly Father has wiped away every tear, where there is no more crying, no more pain. And because we as a family believe exactly as he did, we have no doubt that we will put our arms around Daniel someday, hold his face in our hands, and if we cry, it will only be tears of utter joy to be seeing him again. Until then, not a day will go by when all of our hearts won't ache.

We welcome all to join us in celebrating Daniel's life on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Bethlehem Chapel, 612 Nat Washington Way in Ephrata at 1 p.m.
