Moses Lake Petco to open on Feb. 25

MOSES LAKE - National animal supply chain Petco opens the doors to its North Stratford Road location on Monday.

Petco is the first of three retailers to open in the former Food Pavilion building. Ross and Famous Footwear are also expected to share the space, although officials for both retailers have not announced an opening date for their stores.

Petco store manager Lynn Giraud said the store will hold its soft opening on Monday, meaning Petco will be officially open to the public. Grand opening events will be held on March 1, she said.

Giraud said Petco will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Giraud said staff were all hired about a month ago, and have been busy training and preparing for the store's opening.

"We're pretty set to go and it's very exciting," she said. "We've been receiving our live animals and that's the last detail we do right before we open."

Giraud said Petco will hold a friends and family event at the store on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Customers can meet the store's animal groomers and participate in a small animal seminar and dog training classes.

The Moses Lake Petco is located at 911 N. Stratford Rd.
