Sealed bids for the Royal Slope Railroad Track Maintenance Project 2013 will be received

by the Port of Royal Slope at 4975 Road 13.5 SW, Royal City, WA 99357 until 4 :00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on March 19, 2013.

The project consists of maintenance on the Royal Slope Railroad in Adams and Grant Counties. The work will include vegetation removal on approximately 26 miles of track; procurement, installation, and tamping of approximately 2,000 replacement cross ties and 25 switch ties; and procurement, placement and tamping of approximately 1300 tons of ballast. Work may also include minor track repairs as necessary to facilitate safe operations of contractor’s equipment. Operation of said Railroad was formally abandoned in 1998 and will not resume until after completion of this contract.

This project is a Washington State Transportation funded project, Washington State prevailing wage Law applies. The Port of Royal Slope is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to bid.

Questions will not be answered during any site inspection. Questions should be emailed to Cathy Potter; portofroyal@centurytel.net in the form of a Request for Information (RFI). The RFI and any written answers will be made available to other bidders unless they are proprietary in nature. Questions pertaining to the bid will not be taken after March 12, 2013.

Electronic or faxed bid proposals are not allowed. The Port will not be responsible for unreadable or misdirected bids. Bidders must submit their bids on the forms provided by the Port in the Bid Documents. Documents filled out partially, will be considered nonresponsive. The Port of Royal Slope reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, to accept any bid deemed to be responsive in the best interest of the Port of Royal Slope, and reserves the right to re-advertise for new proposals.
