4 arrested on child endangerment, drug charges in Moses Lake Friday
MOSES LAKE - Four people in Moses Lake were arrested Friday for endangering six children because of suspected drug dealing in a South Alderwood Drive home.
The children were initially taken into protective custody and transferred to Child Protective Services as a result of the arrests. A search warrant was completed about 7 p.m. on the 1100 block of South Alderwood Drive, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin.
Shawnn Lushenko, 31, Shane Lushenko, 31, and Ailisa McKinney, 36, all from Moses Lake, and Summer Ranes, 27, of Othello were arrested on suspicion of child endangerment with a controlled substance.
Ruffin said evidence at the home suggests persons inside were involved in narcotics usage and sale.
The six children were removed from the home because of suspected drug use and the overall living conditions inside the home.
Endangerment with a controlled substance is described as when a person knowingly or intentionally permits a dependent child or dependent adult to be exposed to, ingest, inhale or have contact with methamphetamine and other similar drugs. Endangerment with a controlled substance is a felony.
