Benefit planned at Knolls Vista Friday

| February 15, 2013 5:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - Teachers and students at Knolls Vista Elementary sponsor a fundraiser Friday evening for a neighborhood 5-year-old battling leukemia.

Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. at the school, 454 West Ridge Rd., and include dinner, a dance and silent auction. All proceeds will go to the family of a girl named Lilly, who's fighting a second battle against two forms of leukemia, said second grade teacher Sally Voight. Two of Lilly's brothers attend Knolls Vista.

Lilly has acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia, Voight said.

The evening starts with dinner, with pizzas donated by Papa John's and Dominos, Tim's Cascade snacks and popcorn from CornFusion. The silent auction features items donated by a number of local businesses and community members.

Activities also include a dance, with music from Dale Roth Productions.
