EPHRATA - Grant County prosecutors recently charged Warden resident Armando Gonzales Perez, 23, with burglary, assault and malicious mischief after he allegedly broke into a Soap Lake home.

Perez's counts of burglary in the first degree, assault in the fourth degree and malicious mischief in the third degree all carry special enhancements of domestic violence.

Officers received a call of a domestic disturbance at a Soap Lake home on Feb. 4, according to court documents. The victim reportedly told police that Perez had knocked on her door, but she didn't answer.

Perez then allegedly entered the residence through an unlocked bedroom window, according to court documents.

The victim told police that she hid in the bathroom to make a 9-1-1 call. Perez then reportedly broke into the bathroom, dragged the victim out and proceeded to choke and punch her.

According to court documents, Perez reportedly told the victim to tell police he was no longer there. Police located Perez in the house and transported him to Grant County Jail, according to court records.
