MOSES LAKE - Two people were injured Tuesday evening in a multi-vehicle collision on Patton Boulevard near state Route 17 in Moses Lake.

Deeanna P. Sandoval, 23, and Angelica C. Cortes, 48, were transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital with unknown injuries after the vehicle Sandoval was driving was struck by another vehicle driving into oncoming traffic about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cortes was a passenger in the vehicle. Moses Lake Police Captain Dave Ruffin said the injuries were likely minor.

According to police reports, 38-year-old Cesar S. Libed from Lynnwood, Wash., reportedly driving a 1994 Mazda pickup, was traveling west on Patton Boulevard when he crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Honda passenger car heading east, driven by Sandoval. The Honda then struck a Suzuki passenger car traveling in the outside lane. The Suzuki, driven by Pavel I. Lyamin, 65, traveled off the road into the ditch.

According to reports, all drivers and passengers involved were wearing seat belts.

The city of residence for Sandoval, Lyamin and Cortes are unknown at this time, according to Ruffin, and were not included in the initial police report. The collision is still under investigation and no charges have been recommended.
