Moses Lake man hurt seriously in school bus collision

EPHRATA – Vladimir Rudnitsky, 44, of Moses Lake was injured seriously when the vehicle he was driving was struck by a school bus at the eastern city limit of Ephrata on Jan. 23.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the bus failed to give right of way at the intersection of Airport Road and Highway 282. The accident occurred at around 3:30 p.m.

The driver of the school bus was Antonio Hernandez Lara, 39, of Ephrata. He was uninjured. Injured, but not seriously, were 10 of the 25 student passengers. Neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor.

Rudnitsky was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. His 1990 Toyota was totaled and was hauled away by DJ Towing.

According to the WSP, the bus was southbound on Airport, crossing 282 to get onto Road A NW. It was struck behind the right front wheel by the Toyota, eastbound on 282.
