MOSES LAKE - Parents and students looking for help with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can get that assistance this Sunday at Big Bend Community College during College Goal Sunday.

The BBCC library, 7662 Chanute St. NE, will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with staff on hand to answer questions and help parents and students with the forms. Spanish-speaking staff members will be available as well.

Parents and students should bring Social Security cards and 2012 income information.

College Goal Sunday is open to all families within the BBCC service district, even if the student doesn't plan to attend BBCC. "We're more than happy to help anybody who's going to college, whether they're coming here or not," said Jille Shankar, BBCC's director of financial aid.

The FAFSA form is available on the BBCC website, or from any local high school counseling office. High school and college counselors recommend filling out the form, whether or not the family is planning to use federal aid. Many scholarship applications require the FAFSA information, they said.
