EPHRATA - Grant County PUD commissioners recently approved a 3 percent general wage increase for non-union employees.

The wage increase will impact 273 of the district's 651 employees, according to PUD spokesperson Thomas Stredwick on Monday.

Stredwick said the increase takes effect on Feb. 21.

Salaried employees previously received a 2.5 percent pay increase in 2012, according to Stredwick. There was no general wage increase in 2011, he said.

The wage increase will not add to this year's budget, said Stredwick, since pay increases were already a part of the 2013 budget previously adopted by the board.

Commissioners also approved salary adjustments for commission appointees during their meeting last week.

PUD attorney Mitch Delabarre received a 7 percent pay raise, which brings his new annual salary to approximately $220,376.

The utility's auditor and treasurer each received a 3 percent pay increase as well, according to Stredwick. Auditor Kim Justice's new annual salary is about $119,308, while treasurer Mary Kunkle will receive approximately $123,614 a year.
