Ephrata edges out Grandview

SPOKANE - Benny Carter (152) and Tyrus Kemp (195) placed first in their weight class, and Eli Perez (120) and Tevin Hiatt (170) finished second to lead the Tigers to a fourth-place finish at the 2A CWAC District Tournament at West Valley High School Feb. 1 and 2.
Othello (294.5) took first, Toppenish (233.5), second, Selah (169), third, Ephrata (158), fourth and Grandview finished fifth with 156.5 points.
Finishing out the tournament strong were Dalton Johnson (138) and Isaac Garcia (195) who placed fourth, Matt Derting (220), fifth, David Swenson (152), sixth, and Carlos Flores (113), Julio Maceda (220) and Raul Pelauo (285) who placed seventh respectively.
All 11 wrestlers will move on to the regional tournament this weekend at Ellensburg High School.
