Betty Jean (BJ) Stratton

Betty Jean (BJ) Stratton, of Moses Lake, passed away at home on January 26, 2013. She was born to Stanley and Barbara Stratton in Fort Lewis, WA in 1954. Betty was the eldest of seven children, and is remembered as being a wonderful big sister by her siblings. She graduated from BBCC in 1974 with an Associates Degree. She worked at Basic American Foods for 28 years, and worked as a dispatcher for People For People and GTA for 10 years. She especially enjoyed the freedom of the open road. Betty owned a restored '57 Chevy pickup, and loved taking it to car shows. She enjoyed shooting, was a member of the local gun club, and loved talking with and meeting new people. She had a very caring and compassionate spirit, and never hesitated to help those in need.

She is survived by her father Stanley of Moses Lake, her siblings Patsy Stratton of Moses Lake, Stanley (Denise) Stratton of Harker Heights TX, Dale (Rene) Stratton of Mattawa WA, Renae (Bob) Powell of South Bend WA, David Stratton of Quincy WA and Arlene (Dean) Heitt of Elko NV. She is also survived by her very special nieces and nephews Stanley Robert, Douglas and Rachel Stratton of TX, Dale, Danielle and Derek Stratton of WA, Shannon, Heather, Holly and Tiffany Powell of WA, and Jason and Jessica Heitt of NV. She is also survived by her beloved kitty, Precious.

Betty was an animal lover, and helped support the Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be left for the Sanctuary at the Pioneer Veterinary Clinic.
