Reader comments on postal service
In Regard to: Moses Lake Postal Service. We've had the same mail lady for 5 years. In that 5 years, this is the service we receive consistently from her: knocked over garbage cans from her car, she pushes them out of the way, broken mail box post also from her car hitting it, dirty crinkled mail that has dirt and grime, tire marks, and torn, packages left on top of our mail boxes in the rain, snow, or 100 degree heat. Once even left a package on the mailbox that read "Live fish". That fish died due to the hot sun boiling him because it sat on top of the mailbox where she had placed it back in July 2012.
Sometimes we don't even receive our mail. Especially on Wednesdays because that is garbage day, not only for myself, but for the rest of the 16 neighbors that live in the area. There is no real designated spot for everyone's garbage cans. What are we suppose to do? Why won't the mail lady deliver our packages on our doorsteps like normal mail delivery drivers? Are we suppose to stay home from work and babysit and make sure where everyone else puts their garbage cans so we can ensure that we receive our mail?
I have contacted the postmaster in Moses Lake and complained on numerous times the situation that we have been dealing with. And nothing has ever been resolved. Instead we get threatened with a ticket, get told to fix our box, move our garbage cans, and that she is not required to get out of her car to deliver packages. How is this fair? When will this be resolved in a professional manner? These are our tax dollars. This is the service we get? Unbelievable.
