MOSES LAKE - One woman and a child from Moses Lake were hurt on Jan. 16 when the vehicle they were in crashed near Lmuma Creek on Interstate 82 in Kittitas County.

The Washington State Patrol reported that Mayra Andrade Gaytan, 35, of Moses Lake lost control of her white 2002 GMC Envoy at about 8:15 a.m. It hit a guard rail and rolled and finished on its roof.

The cause of the crash was excessive speed for the conditions, the WSP said.

Gaytan and a 6-year-old child, Delaney Torres of Moses Lake, were injured in the crash. They were taken by ambulance to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg.

Gaytan and the child wore their seat belts, the WSP said. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor. The vehicle was totaled and hauled away by D&M Towing of Ellensburg.
