Moses Lake man dies in officer shooting

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was killed Monday night in an officer-involved shooting on South Belair Drive.

About 5 p.m., Moses Lake police responded to a disturbance in the 2000 block of South Belair Drive. Police reportedly confronted a male at a home and an officer shot the suspect, according to Chief Dave Ruffin.

The man was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake where he later died.

Ruffin said no officers were injured in the shooting. The name of the officer involved was not released Monday night.

The incident is being investigated by the Columbia Basin Investigative Team and more information will be released as the investigation continues.
