WARDEN - A Warden girl was sent to the hospital after two vehicles collided on state Route 262 about eight miles west of Warden.

The 15-year-old girl, a passenger in a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant, was hurt when the driver, a 16-year-old Warden boy, attempted to make a left turn from Road M Southeast onto eastbound SR 262 and struck the side of a 2004 Peterbilt tractor and trailer, according to the State Patrol.

Both vehicles came to rest off the road.

The girl was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for undisclosed injuries. The 16-year-old boy and driver of the Peterbilt, Cody A. Meyette, 27, of Warden, were uninjured in the crash, according to the State Patrol.

All three involved were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The teenage driver was charged with failing to yield the right of way when he tried to turn.
