Isabelle Nettie Beckley

Isabelle, 96, was a long time resident of Warden and Moses Lake, WA from 1958 through 2012 and then spent her last year of life in Vancouver, WA where she died peacefully on December 14, 2013.

She was born April 23, 1917 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Walter and Louie Miller. She attended and graduated from high school in Twin Falls at which time she married her high school sweetheart, Merle Reeves Beckley who preceded her in death in 2004. They spent the first fourteen years of marriage at Twin Falls where they farmed with her parents and then moved to Warden, WA where she and her husband spent the next forty years of their lives before moving to Moses Lake in 1998. In 2012 she moved to Vancouver, WA where she lived out her life near her son David's home there.

Isabelle bore five children: Merle Walter (Ruth) Beckley of Rochester, WA, Millie Ann Beckley (died at birth) Donald Miller (Sharon) Beckley of Moses Lake, WA, David Ray (Gary) Beckley of Vancouver, WA, and Mary Ann (David) Johnson of Plymouth, Michigan with her family until her death in 1978. Isabelle is also survived by nine grand children, ten great grand children and five great great grand children.

Isabelle was a member and officer during the charter years of the Warden Senior Center. Along with always being a homemaker for her family throughout her life, she worked as a US post office rural mail carrier, a US govt. census taker in 1950, a retail clerk at the Warden Drug Store in the 1960's, and at the Warden High School as a Librarian Assistant in the 1970's.

A memorial grave sight service to place her and her husband Merle's ashes at the Warden Cemetery will be held at a later date on a warm and sunny spring day in 2014 (date and time will be announced).
