MOSES LAKE - Attempted murder suspect Jose Rivera was apprehended Thursday night at a Moses Lake home with the help of tips from the public.

Rivera, 16, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of Dale G. Olmos, 28, who was found in a field near Hiawatha Road and Road 5 Northeast Dec. 11 with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the sheriff's office. Rivera was arrested without incident Thursday at a home on Marina Drive by sheriff's deputies, Moses Lake police, U.S. Marshals and INET.

Jordan S. Wiester, 21, was arrested Wednesday and booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder with premeditation and unlawful possession of a firearm. Wiester is a convicted felon. His bail is set for $1 million.

Authorities are still searching for Gilbert Williamson, 46, who has been named a person if interest. Williamson is a white male, 6' tall and about 220 pounds, with hazel eyes and short brown hair.

Detectives believe Olmos was shot because others thought he had stolen a cellphone from another person, according to the sheriff's office. Olmos remains in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital. Police have not released the location of the hospital for safety concerns. Detectives believe the shooting was not random.

Anyone with information on Williamson should not attempt to detain him, but should instead contact the sheriff's office at 509-762-1160 or send information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
