Moses lake downs Wenatchee, falls to Eastmont

WENATCHEE - Moses Lake boys basketball opened Columbia Basin Big 9 play with a split of its first two games.

Senior guard Josh Hirz led the way for the Chiefs with 13 points in their 57-51 win over Wenatchee Friday.

Moses Lake couldn't come away with two road wins to start league play after dropping a close game to Eastmont, 64-62. Junior guard Derek Martinez and sophomore center Cesar Sandoval kept the Chiefs close with 18 and 14 points, respectively.

The Chiefs sit in fourth place in the Big 9 with a 1-1 record and a 3-1 record overall.

Moses Lake returns home to face Davis on Friday with tip off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
