MOSES LAKE - Improvements are being made to ready a 3,000 square foot office building at the Port of Moses Lake for new tenant Systems Maintenance Services.

Port officials signed a three-year lease with the national IT service and support solutions company last month, port executive director Pat Jones said. The company, based in Charlotte, N.C., is anticipated to occupy the space beginning Jan. 1, he said.

"It's one of our smaller buildings, Crown Moving a while ago had their office functions over there," Jones explained.

SMS currently provides IT services for the Titan facility, Jones told port commissioners during a business meeting this week.

"It's nice to have a new tenant in there and one that hopefully grows in terms of the services they offer to other data centers in Grant County," he said during the meeting.

SMS was founded in 1981 and currently supports more than 3,000 clients around the world. They have direct service support in the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, according to the company's website.

Jones said port maintenance staff will re-paint the building and install new lighting and carpeting, among other improvement projects before Jan. 1.
