Cain Valdez

| December 18, 2013 5:00 AM

Cain Valdez, Sr. longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away to be with His Savior, Jesus on Wednesday December 11, 2013 surrounded by his family in Moses Lake.

Cain was born on November 27, 1943 in Hale, Texas to Eulogio and Casimira Valdez and had 7 siblings. On October 28, 1963 he married Seferina Mata in Crystal City, Texas and later on moved to Moses Lake, WA. Cain was a truck driver and owned his own company for years before retiring in 2001 and was a long time member for 37 years of El Sendero de la Cruz Church where both he and his wife served as deacons and pillars of the church. Known for a great sense of humor and a love for wrestling, Cain was a prankster and loved to make people laugh, he was quick to always share a story for every situation in life. Cain loved his garden and was very generous with its fruit and he especially loved his pal peewee, his special dog and looked to Jesus to help him through the physical pain during the last few years of his life.

Cain had a strong faith and loved to call his friends to encourage them to look to Jesus as they passed through difficult seasons in life, if someone was down, Cain was quick to lift them up and never missed a church service or activity and no one ever heard him complain about how his health was failing him, he was quick to tell everyone that he was still breathing.

Cain is survived by his wife of 50 years, Seferina of Moses Lake; sons Cain Jr. and Lety of Moses Lake, Robert and Beverly of Yakima, Jesse and Ciarelle of Bellevue, daughters Cassandra and Paul Ochoa, Mary and Mike Alvarado, Sonia and Sabrina, all of Moses Lake; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several of his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brother Cain will be missed by all of us; this world was blessed to know him and we are blessed to know that today he is dancing and singing with Jesus in his mansion in heaven.
