Belva Grace (Beutler) Rodrigues

| December 17, 2013 5:00 AM

Belva Grace (Beutler) Rodrigues passed away quietly December 11, 2013 at Moses Lake Senior Living with her beloved son, Bob Jones and her daughter-in-law, Mina Jones at her bedside.

Belva was born on the home farm to William James Beutler and Meda Eliza (Lake) Beutler on December 21, 1917 in Emmett, Idaho. She was the fourth of eight children. Her love for nature, people, and children was apparent throughout her life. Belva had responsibilities as she grew up and learned early to appreciate everything she accomplished or that she received.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life. She served in many positions from Sunday School teaching to Relief Society President.

In 1934, on May 17th, Belva was in love and eloped at the age of 16 with Alva "Wayne" Jones and they were married in Cascade, Idaho. They lived with Wayne's grandparents (the Bakers) on their orchard farm on the Slope in Emmett for the first year. Their only child, Robert Wayne Jones was born on July 1, 1935 at her parents' home, in her grandmother's old bedroom in Emmett.

In their early married years, they moved to Southern Oregon as Wayne worked in the logging industry. The family followed the logging operations for many years. Belva was not the one to stay idle. She built the floor in her first home, which was a tent in the logging camp, did the other ladies' hair for them, and raised her son, whom she was devoted to.

When they moved to Eureka, California, she went to beauty school and eventually had her own shop. In the late 1970's she and her third husband moved to Warden, Washington and bought a 75 acre farm where she lived until July of 2011. Belva moved into Moses Lake Senior Living and dearly loved her apartment and the people she met.

Belva's hobbies were: knitting, crocheting, quilting, raising a garden and flowers, reading her bible and other church books, dancing, and helping others, especially children and her family that meant so much to her.

Belva will be forever in our hearts. Her survivors are: her devoted son, Robert W. and daughter-in-law Mina (Larsen) Jones of Kenai, Alaska; two step-children, Lois (Dale) Trant of Stockton, California and Dick (Betty) Dale of Eureka, California; three sibling, Wayne and Barbara (Howard) Beutler of Yuba City, California, Cal and Betty Beutler of Yuba City, California, and Frances Thompson of Torrance, California; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Belva was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Meda Beutler; brothers Kenneth Beutler and George Beutler; sisters Juanita Cahoon and Helen Lamroe; step-son Timothy Dale; and five husbands, Wayne Jones, Frank Dale, Isais Rodrigues, Denzel Hancey, and Louie Casey.

Belva loved the Lord and was a very good example of a woman of true convictions and love for her faith. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

"Rest in Peace, Dearest Mother and Grandmother, we will love you forever."

The family is so indebted to the staff and administrators at the Moses Lake Senior Living and the Hospice ladies who were so helpful, gracious and loving toward our mom. She loved all of you from the bottom of her heart and we will forever be grateful for your concern and love.
