Reader wonders about the 'Affordable Health Care Act'

| December 13, 2013 5:00 AM

More than fifty years ago I read "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." The saying, "An albatross around one's neck" comes from it. Could the "Affordable Health Care Act" be a dead, rotting albatross rightfully hung around the current federal administration's neck? Or is it still flapping around? Is the "website" safe?

Will high "affordable" monthly payments for health care, combined with extremely high deductible rates awaken people to the impact of this law? Will medications be limited to "generics" unless the person pays perhaps 50% of cost of "not listed" medications? What if the patient is allergic to the "fillers" in the generic drugs?

But wait, it gets better! Who ordered the stand-down to prevent immediate assistance to Ambassador Stevens and his staff in Benghazi? Why haven't those responsible for sending guns to the Mexican drug cartels been offered to the Mexican courts for their actions that have facilitated murders? Who set up procedures in the IRS to stall applications of 501(c)(4) applications from some organizations?

Who is attempting to govern this country by executive orders without regard to the laws passed by Congress? Why does the EPA have regulations that are effectively a "war on coal?" Why hasn't Congress brought forth Articles for Impeachment of the Attorney General following issuing a Contempt of Congress?

What will be printed in the history books twenty and fifty years in the future?

I suggest people read former Democratic Governor Richard Lamm's speech "How to Destroy America" and his book "Two Wands, One Nation." We the People have the Right and Duty to hold all of our "public servants" accountable for their actions.
