The City of Moses Lake Parks Department submitted an application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit on August 26, 2013. Additional information was submitted on November 5, 2013.

Notice of Application and Public Hearing

The City of Moses Lake Parks Department submitted an application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit on August 26, 2013. Additional information was submitted on November 5, 2013. The application was determined to be substantially complete and ready for review on December 3, 2013. The proposed project location is Japanese Gardens Park, 800 Alder St.. The proposal is construction of a historical/interpretive trail, placement of 550 linear feet of walkway within the park, construction of a shelter building, and installation of 10 interpretive kiosks. All of the work will be performed outside the wetland buffer. The project has been determined to be consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and the following development regulations are applicable to the project: City of Moses Lake Municipal Code Title 14 Environmental Regulations, Title 16 Buildings and Construction, Title 18 Zoning, Title 20 Development Review Process, and City of Moses Lake Shorelines Management Plan

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this project at 7:00 pm, January 30, 2014 in the City Council Chambers located at 401 S. Balsam. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and make comment.

Comments on this proposal from public agencies with jurisdiction and comments on the environmental impacts of this proposal will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2014. Comments on other aspects of this proposal from the general public will be accepted up to the date of the public hearing. Public comment may be provided up to the date of the

public hearing. In addition, persons who want to be informed of future actions or the final decision on this proposal should provide their name and address to the project planner listed below. The final decision on this proposal will be made within 120 days of the date of the notice of completeness and may be appealed according to the City appeal provisions specified in Moses Lake Municipal Code 20.11, Appeals.
