Chiefs roll past Wildcats

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake girls bowling rebounded from its first loss of the season at Wenatchee Tuesday with a 4-0 win over Eastmont at Lake Bowl.

"The girls bowled good after that Wenatchee trip where we should've had them but we didn't have them," head coach Billy Brice said.

The Chiefs opened the match bowling well with sophomore Kim Muldner and senior Kayla Steffler both posting scores near 200. Muldner posted a 189 and Steffler was the high roller scoring 190. Moses Lake took the first game 812-634.

Brice liked his team's intensity, but still felt there was some room for improvement.

"The girls came back strong still we had some spare issues that we need to clear up a little," he said.

Muldner and Steffler continued to lead the Chiefs in the second game, each eclipsing the 200-point mark. Muldner recorded a 203 and Steffler bowled a 216. A strike in the final five frames helped Mulder post such a high score.

The Chiefs took game two from the Wildcats, 859-634.

"The girls came out a little more fired up this time and we're just going to keep building on it game by game," Brice said.

Brice believes these are the types of scores the team will have to consistenly post for a shot to go deep in the postseason.

Moses Lake will face Eisenhower Dec. 10 before returning to Lake Bowl for a home match against Davis Dec. 12.

"I really have a really solid team this year," Brice said. "Hopefully we can go a little deeper in the postseason."
