Marshall Cy Miller

| December 5, 2013 5:00 AM

Marshall Cy Miller, caretaker of the Ephrata community, passed into eternity on November 23, 2013, after 66 years.

He will be remembered and celebrated for his commitment to his family and many contributions through his service to his church, The Masons, The Elks, Toastmasters, Eastern Star, The Democratic Party, Pinochle Club, and his donation of over 17 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. All in addition to supporting many individuals and organizations and receiving countless awards.

Marshall will also be remembered as the man who walked to the Grant County PUD for over 46 years in sunshine, rain, hail or snow all while reading a book.

The most important part of his life was his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Barbara; his children Marlys (Troy) of Ephrata, Marshall Cy II (Amanda) of Vancouver, Micah (Erin) of Richland; and his grandchildren Matthew, Maxwell, Abra, Macklin, Lucinda and Merrick. As well as his sisters MarCine and Melody and brothers Milan and Marc. Plus an extended family who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents Verner and Ellen Miller and a son Matthew Eugene.

During his lifetime he climbed Mt. Rainier, sky dived, zip lined, white water rafted, kayaked and participated in any adventure he could find.

Please come help us celebrate his life and the fun and carefree spirit that he was at his memorial service December 7th, 2013 at 3:00 pm at The First Presbyterian Church of Ephrata located at 172 Ivy St. SE in Ephrata. It would be great if you come wearing Hawaiian shirts; crazy ties, or bright colors. Memorials can be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Ephrata in Marshall's name. Marshall was full of life and fun and we want to continue to represent him this way. Marshall Cy Miller is an example of how to be an honorable, generous, positive and decent gentleman who lives every day to its fullest.
