Christmas Bazaar this Saturday at Desert Aire

DESERT AIRE - If you are looking for Christmas ideas and are disposed to helping children in crisis in central Washington, this Saturday's Cozy Comforts Christmas Bazaar may be your best bet.

Cozy Comforts of South Grant County will have its annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Sagebrush Senior Center. It is located at 441 Desert Aire Drive in Desert Aire.

"There will be something for everyone," Cozy Comforts President Diane Hanson said.

Proceeds from the bazaar and bake sale and other fund-raisers at the same event will go toward the support of Cozy Comforts' charitable work. The 25 or so members make comfort blankets and distribute them to agencies - fire, police, social services - who deal with children in crisis.

The organization's annual Christmas Bazaar offers for sale other pieces of motherly artistry made by the same women and other members of the Desert Aire Community. The bazaar also features a silent auction and raffles supported by donated items from individuals and businesses.

In addition to the gift items, the ladies of Cozy Comforts will offer an inexpensive lunch of hot chicken soup, crackers and dessert.

According to Hanson, there will be cookies of all kinds, pies, cakes, cupcakes, candy, fudge, and snack items. There will be hand made quilted place mats, napkins, crocheted dishcloths, tote bags, gift bags and fleece blankets.

Hanson noted there will be a Granny Table loaded with one-of-a-kind, just-gotta-have-it, bargains.

Raffle prizes will include a Christmas quilt, donations from local businesses, including several bottles of wine from Milbrandt Vineyards.

Silent auction items will include a car afghan, outdoor fire pit from Marty's Hardware, several other unique afghans, and much, much more.

"Lots of good Christmas gifts," Hanson said.

Cozy Comforts will be selling raffle tickets, at $1 each for a basket that includes a gift card, a Christmas quilt, wine and many more items.
