Melodie A. Calbom

Melodie A. Calbom, 84, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her home in Moses Lake. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Moses Lake United Methodist Church, 746 S. Ironwood Dr. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. The family then invites you to join them for food and fellowship at Michael's on the Lake, 910 W. Broadway Ave., Moses Lake. Melodie was born in Portland, Oregon on September 22, 1929 to Geraldine Titus Coy and Raymond Coy. She moved to Pullman, Washington with her parents when she was in the fifth grade. She was raised in Pullman, and became a homemaker and mother to three children. In 1973 she moved to Moses Lake where she married John E. Calbom on July 16, 1973. They enjoyed many happy years together, welcoming their family into their home. After John's retirement they spent many years traveling and spending time together and with their family. Melodie was an active member of the United Methodist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Staley and her beloved husband, John E. Calbom.

Melodie is survived by her sister, Manota Lyons; her daughter, Christina Schafer (and her sons, Kelly Crithfield and Lance Crithfield); her son, Lindsey C. Staley (and his son Lindsey C. Staley Jr.) her son, John F. Staley Jr. (and his children, Alison Staley, Sean Staley - and his daughter, Makenzie Staley, Aaron Staley, Austin Staley, Anthoney Staley and Amanda Staley); her stepchildren, Susan Calbom (and her sons, Tyler Reffett, Jordan Reffett and Mitchell Reffett), John E. Calbom Jr. and Linda M. Calbom.
