Crappie limits are being caught off the MarDon Dock and around the dock fishing from boats. Crappie must be 9 inches to keep on Potholes Reservoir and the daily catch limit is a total of 25 Crappie or 25 Crappie and Bluegill combined. We have not seen Crappie catching at the MarDon Dock like this in many, many years.

Walleye action has been the best near Goose Island. Walleye's over 10 lbs have been reported this past week.

Bass anglers are finding great catch and release action on Potholes Reservoir. The main baits bass fishers are using are 5 inch plastic grubs, Senkos, Spinner Baits, Rebel Pop R's, and Spro Frogs. With our typical end of August low water conditions, access into the sand dunes is very challenging. The crab creek channel continues to provide good largemouth action. Many serious bass fishers are having 30 fish plus catch and release bass outings.

Quality Rainbow action will only improve with cooling fall weather. The mouth of Frenchman's Wasteway and the Medicare Beach Area continue to produce quality Rainbow, many over 20 inches. The lures that are producing jumbo rainbows' are Needle Fish, Rapala Shad Raps, or Spinner and Crawler set ups.

Dove Hunters will have a good opener on the Royal Slope. The Royal Hunt Club offer a fee access Dove Hunting on private property. The Royal Hunt Club is a fundraising activity to enhance events for children in the Royal City School District. This is a 501-C3 non-profit organization. For more information call (509) 346-2651.
