OTHELLO - Four people, including three children, were injured Monday in a four-vehicle crash on state Route 17 near Othello.

According to the State Patrol, Georgia resident Sipriano Magana, 20, driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, failed to yield as he attempted to cross the highway at West Cunningham Road about 7:30 a.m. Monday. Magana was reportedly heading east across state Route 17 and struck a 2003 Chevrolet K2 pickup heading south on the highway, driven by Aaron L. Whitney, 30, of Moses Lake, who was uninjured in the crash.

After hitting the first vehicle, Magana's car then struck a 2006 Toyota Tacoma heading north, driven by Glenn W. Beus, 63, of Othello, and a 1999 GMC K3 pickup, driven by Kennewick resident Carlos F. Borba, 29, according to the State Patrol.

Magana, Beus and Borba were all uninjured in the crash.

Four passengers from Kennewick in Borba's truck were injured, including Francisco Gonzalez, 30, Samuel Salinas, 28, two girls, ages 5 and 6, and one boy, age 6. All four were transported to Othello Community Hospital for treatment.

The four people injured were reportedly wearing seatbelts.

The State Patrol determined Magana failed to yield the right of way. He was also cited for no valid operator's license.
