Alice Glenn (Neese) Wallin

Alice Glenn (Neese) Wallin, 92, of East Wenatchee, Wash., died Aug. 18, 2013 in Wenatchee after a short illness.

She had lived in the Wenatchee Valley for three years after residing in Ephrata, Wash., for 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Wallin of East Wenatchee; son Roy Neese of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter Debbie Walker of Kalamazoo, Mich.; sister Teddy Lou Brookman of Altus, Okla.; stepdaughters Patti Ferguson of Ephrata and Nancy Frenette of Denver, Colo.; stepson Bruce Wallin of Highland Ranch, Colo.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky Ave. in East Wenatchee. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Ephrata Cemetery in Ephrata. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee.

Born in Hollis, Okla., she and five siblings lived on a farm with her parents, Otto and Stella Parr.

After graduating from Hollis High School in 1939, she worked as a timekeeper in the Beech Aircraft factory in Wichita, Kan., during World War II where she met her first husband, George W. Neese, who was a shift foreman. In 1950 they moved to Seattle, Wash., where she worked in the Alaska Airlines corporate office prior to her son's birth. The family moved to Ephrata in 1955, where daughter Debbie Neese was born in 1959. She worked as a legal secretary in the office of Moe & Kight in Ephrata. After a move to Maple Valley, Wash., in 1962, she worked as a legal secretary, in real estate, as a loan officer at a bank and as the secretary for the Maple Valley Chamber of Commerce. They moved back to Ephrata in 1975 after her husband's retirement, where she continued to work in the legal field. George Neese passed away in 1985.

She married Raymond Wallin in 1990 in Ephrata, and they resided there until selling their home and moving to the Wenatchee Valley in 2010 where they enjoyed new activities, including a large and active senior center and the beautiful surroundings and scenery.

Glenn enjoyed traveling, both stateside and abroad, including Europe and a cruise through the Panama Canal. Because their combined families covered many states, they traveled to Alaska, Colorado, California, Kansas, Iowa and Louisiana. She was especially proud of renewing her driver's license at age 90.

She and Ray were avid sports fans, viewing Ephrata High boys and girls academic and sports teams so often that the school awarded the couple a free pass to all its games, both home and away. She also was an avid follower of Washington State University teams, the Seattle Mariners and Gonzaga University basketball.
