MOSES LAKE - The Grant County Fair closed Saturday with a packed crowd enjoying the cowboys and cowgirls at the 70th annual Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo.

The rodeo ran from Thursday until Friday and each night brought outstanding bull riding, tie down roping and other entertainment.

Rhen Richard, of Roosevelt, Utah, used his quick hands to place first in the tie down roping event with a time of 8.1 seconds. Richard followed up his win in tie down roping with a win in the team roping with his partner Jesse Sheffield. The two posted a blazing time of 5.5 seconds.

Cheney native Adam Gray won the bareback riding competition with a score of 85, besting Bobby Mote's score of 82.

After the majority of the events had concluded, the crowd was treated to an aerial display from freestyle motocross rider Cody Cavanaugh. Cavanaugh launched off a ramp placed in the middle of the arena and performed tricks including heel clickers, heart attacks and backflips.

The main event of the rodeo was the bull riding. Scottie Knapp took home first place with a score of 88.

This year's rodeo was larger than previous year's due to the increased prize money.
